The Hunger Games

Most of you have probably heard of this series, likely from the four film adaptions.

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, & Mockingjay are a dystopian trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

A fair amount of people dislike this series, saying that it promotes hate and bad government feelings, but I disagree. I think that this series says the opposite.

Katniss Everdeen will do anything for her friends and family, and I don't know how that kind of love and loyalty could be bad.

Also, bad things happen in this book, yes, but it is just an example of why we should prize our free will and full stomachs, when it really is a gift.

Bad things happen in the world, bad things happen in books. The difference is in the ending (which I am NOT going to spoil).

The Hunger Games is an excellent series, and I think that all folks who like books would benefit from reading it.

It can be a little scary, so I wouldn't suggest it to younger folks.
