The Lunar Chronicles
The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer, is one of my all-time favorite series. It follows the life of a sixteen-year-old cyborg named Cinder.
I love this series because it combines my two favorite genres, Fantasy and Sci-Fi. It has a totally fresh storyline, but many of the characters are based off traditional Grimm fairy tales, which can be both hilariously ironic and familiarly heartwarming.
After all, Rapunzal wasn't marooned on a satellite, but it is close enough. When you get to the Sahara desert part, picture the song "I See The Light" from Tangled. I giggled SOOO hard.
But aside from the funny parts (and there are many), there is a sweet storyline. I was extremely frustrated when it ended.
The Lunar Chronicles can be found in the YA section of most libraries, they are fairly large and hard to miss. Look for dark blue and red. The books, in order, are; Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter. There is also a two-part comic adaption called Wires and Nerve, and two add-ons called Fairest and Stars Above.
There are some scary parts, but nowhere near as bad as The Maze Runner or The Hunger Games.
Remember, The Lunar Chronicles, by Marissa Meyer.
Have fun!!!
