Wings of Fire
I found the Wings Of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland when shopping at Barnes and Noble. I later got it from the library, and enjoyed it greatly.
It is written for younger readers, but I am not alone in enjoying it, and I think that it is a good series to read with the family.
I believe that there are thirteen books out so far, with two more planned.
The first five books follow a group of young dragons (dragonets) who escape their "protectors" and set out to fulfill the prophecy they were told was their destiny. The first book is ok, but it really gets better in book two, and if you don't like the first one, you should stick around.
Arc One:
The Dragonet Prophecy
The Lost Heir
The Hidden Kingdom
The Dark Secret
The Brightest Night
I have only read the first three in the second arc, because that's all the library has, but it is also quite interesting. The conflicts in this series are both massive and intensely personal, and I think that we all can find something to relate with.
Arc Two:
Moon Rising
Winter Turning
Escaping Peril
Talons of Power
Darkness of Dragons
I haven't read any in the third group, but I've heard that it focuses on a whole other continent, with new dragons, new conflicts, and probably new characters as well.
Arc Three:
The Lost Continent
The Hive Queen
The Poison Jungle
Anyway, if you find yourself at the library with nothing to read, grab a few of these, they are a really fun read, and you would be surprised how many other people have read them.
Also, if you do read them, please comment with your opinion of Glory. I really love her.
